 Bjarni Armannsson bought an apartment and a painting from Glitnir after his employment termination. Bjarni offered the bank after it collapsed to buy the apartment and the painting back for the same price he paid. It is not the policy of the new Glitnir to buy paintings and turned down Bjarni´s offer.
When Bjarni resigned as the chairman of Glitnir he received an employment termination contract for hundreds of million krona. After Bjarni quit he made a contract with the board of the bank about a purchase of an apartment in Akureyri and the purchase of a few paintings from the impressive painting collection of the bank.
