Margeir Petursson, chairman of MP Bank, says that it is not possible to open the branches of SPRON tomorrow, Monday, as was planned.
"The purchase of MP Bank of the branch network of SPRON without finances is upset because of the protests of new Kaupthing bank," says Margeir in an article he sent to Morgunbladid today. So it seems that new Kaupthing thinks that the takeover endangers the bank. Many ofthe clients are going to transfer back to SPRON and that will upset the system.
