The girl who passed away because of the swine flu in the childrens hospital Hringurinn this morning had a chronic lung disease and is thought to be the main reason for the result. The girl who had multiple disabilities got ill 11 days ago and was addmitted to the hospital last thursday. Olafur Baldursson, CEO of medicine in Landspitali hospital said in a press conference today that the treatment of the girl had been accurately by the plan. He said that all of the preparations in Landspitali in relations to the flu are working out, amongst other the general organizing, stock keeping and aspects towards the employee. They have vaccinated around 80% of the employees. Around noon today were 26 patients in Landspitali because of the influenza, there of four in the intensive care. They are between 30 and 64 years old. Since Friday have the influenza patients been admitted to the hospital and three been released at the same time. Around 60 persons have been admitted to Landspitali because of the influenza from the beginning of the epidemic.
